Why Support Our HS Robotics Team: The Metallic Panthers 4640

Harlem, NY – Frederick Douglass Academy II’s High School Robotics team, The Metallic Panthers 4640, needs your financial support for their latest student-led Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) endeavor.

Any amount you can share is highly appreciated. To donate, please click the gofundme link http://www.gofundme.com/roboticsfda2.

Below is a blurb from the team’s profile at GoFundMe:

“Frederick Douglass Academy II’s Metallic Panthers 4640 is a co-ed team consisting of 9th-12th graders in Harlem, New York. Robotics combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, our school’s robotics team of about 12 students was challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It’s as close to “real-world engineering” as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide our team as well, so we were able to learn from professional engineers. The program is not only very educational but also very fun!”
